Maybe like 1HP. It does take some effort to turn the pump, but not much.

I took it off my car and saved 10 pounds

i am not sure how many hp you would pick up but if you arent using it, bypass it and take it off, along with the other smog stuff and save some weight.

mine is bypassed with a short belt, and though we did several different dyno sessions that day, even before and after the bypassing of the smog pump, i couldnt tell you what i picked up because we also changed the crank pulley to a small ass coke can size race pulley and a different alt. pulley and I picked up 16 to the rear wheels. from the pulleys and smaller belt.

it is a big lopey cam, and sounds great. I think a custom would give me better low end power and be better through out the band but i like it alot. when i can afford a custom ill give ed curtis a call, until then though it runs good on my 331. it would be too much for smaller applications though. i know a guy with a 306 who wishes he went with a stage two.

As stated before. It's the weight loss that's the advantage, not the Hp gain.
