Is this 5 lug conversion kit good?

I was browsing through ebay for a 5 lug conversion kit since i'm on a budget and i found these for a good price:

Anybody buy from these people before on ebay?I just have my bullit rims here sitting in my room and i'm dying to put them on my car soon.

for the price, seems like a good deal, plus the parts are new. 50resto has this for $370 or so. I will say go for it, but wait for more responses and see what other guys think.

I bought everything from mustangs unlimited. Ford Racing rear axles and drums that fit stock everything for around $200

Most likely uses the Lincoln rotors which will limit your wheel selection unless you want to run the fronts with no dust caps. There are ways around this, but they involve machining the wheels or rotors, modifying the dust caps or using wheel spacers. This is a hassle and wheel spacers are not the best idea. If you know for a fact that your wheels will fit the Lincoln rotors, then yeah, it's an okay price I guess.

As said above, those use lincoln rotors which will really limit your wheel selections. That is a good price for what you get though. I did my 5-lug conv. using all sn95 parts. I was able to get the front and rear rotors, calipers (pbr), brackets, spindles and hardware for $350 shipped off the corral. The only other things I had to get were rear axles and e-brake cables. My main intention for doing the 5-lug conversion was so that I could get rid of those hideous drums and actually have brakes that work decently. Having 5-lug was just an added bonus. Its all up to you and your budget though.

thats a good kit for the $$$ in my opinion , I got junkyard parts and ended up spending 140-150 or so and thats with used parts ....so I say go for it , as for the rotors in front , mr gasket 7/16th wheel spacer is not a big deal , but its more of a chore to find longer studs to fit than anything ....I found some close but they knurl diameter was too small so I broke out the welder and welded the studs to the rotor to keep them from spinning because the knurl diameter was just a little bit smaller and they wouldnt hold tight enough to tighten the wheel up ....but you will be fine if you stay away from ford original equipment or OE replica wheels.....prostars look killer on five lug conversions IMO.........and you wont have to run spacers with them .....

Will my original 17x8 bullit rims from ford run on those rotors without modifiying them? If not i know where i can get the axels for cheap and i'll get the rotors elswhere.

I found the same guy is selling these axels new for $135.99 and for $29.99 you get 2 new drums,i find that a very good deal. I think i'll go with that for axels.

no, they will not directly bolt up to the bullitts...i ran those rotors with my 98 cobra wheels. I needed a 1/4" spacer, could not run centercaps, and only had a few threads that my lugs were holding to. If your set on bullitt wheels id go with a sn95 front setup.

shipping is ~$75, so at $300 i dont think its that great a deal, but still cheaper than buying those individual parts at autozone. You can pick up sn95 spindles rotors calipers and hoses for under 300, then find some axles at a JY. the 28 splines wont hold up to much, so i dont think it matters whether theyre new or used ranger or aerostar units.

plus with the SN setup u have potential cheap 13" brake upgrades and endless wheel selection.

Well i finally changed my mind,i'm going to have to get the sn95 brake upgrade weather i like it or not cause of the rims. Plus i want better braking anyways. I just have to wait 2 weeks longer to search the junkyards or check online for them. It sux when you get paid every 2 weeks and not enough money also, but it will all happen in due time. So i just need the spindles,hubs,brake lines,rotors and dust shields from a sn95 94-95 v6 or gt right?Do i need the sn95 master cylinder and brake booster too?

Finding the sn95 stuff at a JY would be nice, but just browse around SN, corral, and other ford msg board classifieds. 99+PBR stuff would be better, but u want the 94-95 spindles as the newer spindles have a wider track, but with an 8" wheel they would work too.

yes they will fit , heres a pic of mine , 7/16th spacer and longer studs in front , I actually put the spacers on and drove around for a couple weeks with just them on but didnt like the idea of only have a few threads holding the wheel on so then I opted to put the longer studs in heres a pic

Thanx for the link,it will come in handy.But will i be fine if i keep my master cylinder if i upgrade to 94-95 sn95 brakes?

nope , you have to upgrade the master cylinder , buy the 3-2 port coversion kit and if you go with the stock sn95 single piston calipers you really arent gonna gain anything worth talking about IMO.......99+ GTs have twin piston aluminum calipers (minor grinding on the spindle required) that are decent but then you are spending even more money on 11 inch brakes .....the cobra upgrades are like $399 everywhere if you wanna do that after you spend the money to put the SN95 spindles on ......by the time you get that one there , then you still have the small power booster on the car which is one major downfall to the whole system from the get go .......

I do agree...

Previous to the sn95 setup i ran the lincoln 5lug rotors with m7 73mm calipers and M7 2 port master cyl. This was a very noticble improvement over stock.

Then going to the SN95 setup using the lincoln MC, i didnt see any improvements in braking. If anything i thought the 73mm calipers were better, but possibly a diff MC could have improved my setup.

id still recommend the 94-95 setup over spacers&M7 rotors tho

Nice fox,do you know if Luke put lowering springs on his car after the billit rims and if he did how much did he drop it. Thanks for the link also might i add.

Luke and I both used a Bullitt Suspension Kit, but he wanted his car to sit a little bit lower than mine and sliced a very small piece off the front Bullitt Springs.
