Hey,

I found this on Craigslist:

1994 Mustang Cobra T-5 Trans

My 3rd gear is starting to grind, so I am wondering if this is the same transmission in my 1987 GT or is it any better?

It's almost the same realistically, except the input shaft is longer.
If you have $450 to spend, pull your trans out, have it rebuilt, it really doesn't cost much and you know where it's been.

borg warner t-5 = Stock Mustang Trans reguardless of the word "Cobra".

I agree, a manual trans rebuild is not that expensive. Get some good HD blocker rings and you're done.

I'd also like to note that the 94/95 input shaft being longer causes fitment issues. Some of have swapped out the input shaft, i believe others have used the 94/95 bellhousing, neither of which are worth the time money or trouble.

Yep. I am selling mine in my sig but for a lot less that I bought it - so a Fox would still make out.
