Is This a blown headgasket??

Pulled my intake and found this, black **** that smells like fuel and is very crumbly in your hand. only thing i can think is a headgasket leak and carbon is coming through where the head meets the block. it is coming out of three cylinders, two of them more than the third. car ran fine when it was parked and the few trips up the street it still ran just as strong as it had when i parked it. Also car has set for about 2 years and has been started about once a month and let run for about 15 min with the occasional trip down the road just so it could move. So what do yall think? This a blown headgasket?

That looks like it is caked on there. If it was blowing thru then you would have a compression leak and that stuff would be in your oil. I dont see how if it was leaking out there it wouldnt be caked there. That to me looks like sludge. Letting there car sit for too long can do that. Even if you drove it for a few miuntes. You are SUPPOSE to change your oil every 3K miles or 3 months whichever comes first. Granted you can go longer than that (not recommended) but 2 years is a long time and oil that old will gunk up

Thats sludge. Don't worry about it. Clean it out with a shop vac, remember to plug the heads first, and continue.

ahh yes good old dino oil. like the others said it's just sludge, carbon build that most motors with mileage build up under the intake and under the valve covers, I have seen it so bad the oil wouldn't drain back and once the cover was lifted you got a nice dirty oil bath. just chip away and vac. plug open holes first as best has possible.

Regardless, if you already have the intake off, how much more work would it be to change the head gaskets while you are there? A couple of hours to pull the headers and heads and a couple of bucks for the gaskets and new head bolts? Personally, I'd replace them and know that everything is good instead of wondering down the road if you will have to do it all over.

Yea I decided to today to just go ahead and replace them while im there. the engine is coming out saturady so i might as well. also going to be getting a new clutch while ive got trans out. would also like to find a good deal on some gt40 heads to throw on.
