I am rebuilding the motor in the 5.0. going to be .030. Just wondering if this is a good rebuild kit and a good price?? $550.00 at Summitracing.com

I found out that they are trw pistons?? Is that good or bad??? Does it make a difference because this is just a street car?? And I will have to call and ask about the ring width...
 
Quick question here.. doesn't doing something like this make the cost come within a few hundred dollars of a stroker motor from woody? By this, I mean aren't you going to have to rebalance the rotating assembly(new pistons), and go 30 over on the block in addition to cleanup, magnafluxing, changing cam bearings, etc...
I could be way off here. I haven't got my machine shop prices yes.
 
I rebuilt my motor a while back and didn't get it rebalanced. It was as smooth as can be at 6 grand. The only thing with that rebuild kit is that if you want to eventually go with boost, that compression ratio is a little high.
