Is this a problem?

When i drive my 66 Mustang 289 when i accelerate it speeds up then right when i take my foot off the gas it immediatly slows down and i (me myself from the car slowing) go forward a little and then from there it goes down faster than normal, what is this? What can i do to fix it? thanks.
