I just bought some prestone antifreeze/coolant for my GT. Thiis stuff is neon yellow, all the coolant i have ever seen, as well as the stuff i drained out of my car, was green. Is this stuff ok to use?
was it from the yellow bottle and looks like any other kind of prestone? if so then its fine. make sure that the prestone meets or exceeds the ford spec and its fine to use in your car. a lot of the newer fords come with yellow coolant. its weird, first time i saw it i thought someone on the production line was pissing in the coolant tanks.
Was it the regular Prestone coolant in the yellow jug? When it is new it will look bright neon yellow/lime green. The owner's manual for my 02 GT says that there are 2 types of coolant that Ford uses, a green kind and a yellow kind. The manual says to just use whichever kind that it was filled with from the factory. My GT was filled with the green stuff but my wife's 03 Explorer has the yellow kind, and the two definately look different. I believe the normal Prestone coolant in the yellow jug is the green kind.
