Is this hole in the block supposed to be pluged?

Hey guys, just wondering if this hole is supposed to be pluged or not? I have a slight oil leak somewhere back there, i believe its just the rear of the lower intake.. But im curious about that threaded hole, what is it used for?

I would think that is the coolant drain plug, but I could be wrong.

i know its not that.. Those are under the heads, lower on the block..

I have that same hole UNPLUGGED. No leak from it. I dont know what it is for but I'm sure it's not your problem.

yeah thats just a threaded hole. I used it for lifting. My stock 5.0 had it, the explorer engine has nothing. it doesnt go anywhere

I used a shiitload! I think i pinpointed a tiny spot where its getting through. Im gonna try to patch it up without taking the intake off..

On my FRPP M-6009-B50 short block (explorer short block), that hole goes all the way through into the bellhousing. I used it to attach a ground strap for the heater core. I think it's threaded as 7/16" NC.
