So I was working on my car, just messing around, and I decided I wanted to take off the breather line thing on the driver's side valve cover, just to see what was there. So, I pulled the plastic hose off, pulled the rubber elbow off, and was left with a plastic barb sticking out of the valve cover. I yanked on it, and it came out. However, it sounded like something cracked when I pulled it out. The piece itself is fine, but it seems like it might have been glued in there before I removed it.
Did I do something stupid when I broke the seal, if that is in fact what occurred? Will it still function properly? Will it leak oil all over the place?
