Is this K&N filter too short? I am buying one for my new lightening meter...

i bought one i think that size but it also has the little indent in the top for air also

That looks pretty cool. How much was that one? Does it make a cool sound when you floor it?

The reason I was thinking of the smaller cone was to keep down that "air compressor" sound when you start it up. My uncle has one on his car but it is real loud on startup for some reason.

..If I go by CFM of over 1000, is that the main benchmark?
 
i forget how much i paid for it now, i think around $20

i swapped it out for the little one that came on my ebay CAI. i cant really say on noise because i did prochamber and h/c/other stuff at the same time so now the exhaust is all i hear
 
I am going to cut the flange off of the LMAFM and remove the CAI totally because of the 90 degree bend. I will then attach the new cone filter to the MAF which will be connected via "PCV" long enough to reach the fenderwell. No bends or angles. ;) At least, that is what I intend to do.

Does anyone know if it is ok. .. To have the MAF further away? Gradyman?
