I posted the name of a thread I did that has the part number. You have the write harness kit now, you just have to make sure the BLUE/white wire on the harness is connected to the correct wire on the new headunit. I'm pretty sure it's blue on the headunit, but you can refer to the instructions it came with.

How do you add an aftermarket CD player AND amp/sub and still use the 460 amps/speakers?

Please refer to my earlier post that gives the model number of the wire harness. There is another part called a line inverter (taps into speaker wires back at amp and has a set of RCA outputs on it) you can pick it up at Circuit City or Best Buy. You splice the remote lead (blue/white) on the harness with the one on the headunit. You have to run a seperate remote lead from the headunit back to the new amp. You also have to purchase an amp wireing kit. You run the main power line from your battery back to the amp you adding. If you have a very, you need to pull your back seat out to access the amp rack. Not to sure about a coupe. I wish I would have took pictures as I was going for a solid write up.

I went through this on my 01. It had the 6 disc changer in it. I went through several harnesses and none of them worked. I finally found this one:

METRA 70-5519 FORD 2000-2001 AMPLIFIER INTEGRATOR PLUG
Part Number 265-790

on www.partsexpress.com. It worked great! No splicing, no cutting, just wire it in and viola!

I don't know if this will work on the '99, but you might want to give the guys a call at Metra or Parts Express. They seemed to know what they were talking about.

i dont care about the 99s, i just need to know if anyone has done it on a 2002. I h ave called different places and they say it is different for 01 and up. that the amp plug , the wires for it are different. i will call those companys though and see what they say. thanks for the help
