I have a 70 coupe. Previous owner replaced the stock 302 with a 302 crate. I just wanted to double check that my firing order was correct since I just changed the plug wires (one wire at a time :) ). According to the previous owner, he installed "Comp. Cam. Mild. Comp cams double roller and Comp cams lifters."

Let me know if I goofed:

Well, that is ONE of the correct fire order of a 302. With the EFI 302 (aka 5.0's) they switched over to a different firing order because the engine ran better with it. Which firing order is correct for you all depend on you cam and the firing that it was ground for. What is thge part # for your cam? YOu said it was a roller cam, which was the type of cam the came stock in the 5.0 motors. The old firing order 302's had tappet lifters.

I have no idea what the part # is for the cam. All the info I have on it is what I said above.

Do you recommend I try other firing orders and see which one works the best? This firing order seems to work fine, so maybe I shouldn't mess with it...

I am pretty sure your motor can run on the roller motor firing order. Like when you do the EFI conversion to an older motor using the 5.0 as the source of parts, the ecu thinks that it is the 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 firing order, and firing the injectors and plugs with that order. The motor runs, just not as good as if you had the cam to go with the 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 firing order.
