How do you know, when buying a second hand transmission from a salvage yard, if the tranny is really what the seller is trying to make you beleive..
For instance, i have this guy that want to sell this 3650 from a wrecked Mach1 2004. He said that these numbers are on the little metal label on the side (passeger side) of the tranny, it says :
4S-301-AA
E1900
131103
307966572
I assume one of them is the serial number.... I am puzzled a little because i was expecting a number that would start with 2R3W or 3R3W. The reason i was expecting one of these two numbers is that on this forrum, they are talking about the TSB that Ford has for the deffective 3650 from 2001 to 2004, they were saying that some of the tranny build in 2004 alreaddy has the TSB included in it/upgraded parts. (Actually that's what i am looking for)
They are also saying that the serial number of these tranny should start with 3R3W, and if the tranny is not up to date with the TSB parts, it should start with 2R3W.... I am surprised i dont see any of these number on the metal tag that is supposed to come from a Mach1 2004 !!!!
