That is exactly what I was thinking...it looks like it never got painted in that spot, and since my car is silver I really didn't notice it until just the other day because of the rust. The body shop at ford seemed surprised that it is rusting and said mine is the first one they have ever seen with this type of rust...so lets hope they will fix it

mine is doing the same thing in the same place. I also have a friend with a new 04 mach I and his is doing it to. I had to have my bumper replaced and the body shop told me it was a common problem with ford in that spot. I need to go to the dealership to see if they will fix it, but I bet they will say hey your car is 5 years old to bad so sad, you know how dealerships try to get out of everything.

Yeh, I have a small line right there on the pass side rear roof where the black paint is "bluing" (slight rust starting under the paint) I live right on the coast , a block or so from the ocean. BTW, I thought the warranty on rust was longer than 5 years ?!?!?

Sounds like a problem on the 99+ vehicles.

So I got the car back to ford today...they say that they have never seen such rust, and are going to repair it under warrenty as long as they don't find any "work" has been done to the roof. So if you have some rust on your roof...take it to the body shop! hopefully they will fix yours as well.
