Is it worth buying a pro chamber for $213 w/free shipping? If not, then who has low prices, and how long do they usually last on a stang. Oh yea, what kinda HP gains should I expect.
Hell yeah it is worth buying for $213!!! Pro-Chambers have one of the best sounds on the market. The HP gains will vary depending on what other type of exhaust mods you have done. I put on my Pro-Chamber and my Packs at the same time and I could tell a huge difference with the SOTP meter. The one downfall on all MAC products is the longevity. I have had mine for around 6 months and there is no signs of rust. It is definately worth the $213!!!
Ok I guess I'll buy it then. All I have are magnaflows welded in, which sound nice but I would really like to wake them up. Are you running the PC with or without MILs?
I don't have the MIL's because I had a Superchip custom burned for that purpose. The SES light still came on so I have to get myself a set of them because I hate starring at the little orange light!
I have the p/c and the mac 3.5 inch catback. I love the sound, and I probably get 3 people a week coming up to me asking what i've got under there. compliments all the time! As to power gains, I dyno'd at 249 rwhp with just the exhaust and the K&N FIPK, otherwisw stock. Do the math... it was definately a significant gain. The power difference between the P/C and an o/r H was huge; at least on my car anyway. The price is not bad, but with the free shipping you cant go wrong with this deal.
Big hint though, DO NOT use the pos paper gasket that comes with it. Do yourself a favor and get a new stock Tri-metal gasket from ford for $7. Otherwise you WILL be removing the P/C in a week or so to replace the paper crap that will blow out. This is also a good time to replace the driver side manifold studs-- the kit is $3 at napa, dont remember the part #... Otherwise you will develop leaks on the drivers side eventually. The stock studs have flanges that will prevent your aftermarket pipe from mating to the manifold properly.
