My comp 262 cams are on the way, but I've heard that a few people have had issues with parts hitting the pistons in some cars after installing these cams. Is this true? I have a set of 2003 PI heads that they will be going into and I will be purchasing the comp valve springs also. I'm also having MD do the work. Will I be alright? I'm going to be pissed if I spend all this money and end up having to replace the pistons or something.

dont know of any problems with the 262's but on mine the 278's I am aware of PTV issues, so it is very important to degree the cams just right.

We've had no problems so far on the '98 Mustang GT project my uncle and I have been working on. It has Comp 274 cams and a Procharger P1SC. I'll be driving it this week on a shakedown run and so far it makes some good power for a '98.

I'm sure MD will degree the cams properly so i don't see any problems. And i don't remember hearing any 262ah ptv issues...just with the 270ah and up.

I have heard of the 262's having PTV, but the cam installs was using the short-cut and not degreeing them in. MD will degree the cams in, so you will be ok!

I've heard of all the comps having PTV issues and seems to mainly be from install. The tolerances stack up and cause it.

Its installation error that causes the PTV issue. The 262 cams do not have enough duration to warrent them causing PtV issues.

There should be no reason why the 262s would have PtV issue. It is usually from installation error.
