Sorry... i guess i've just been spoiled by the superior design and quality of snap-on tools

But seriously, have you ever tried to take bellhousing bolts out with a craftsman ratchet. I helped a friend of mine do a clutch job and thats all he had. Lets just say it was a good thing he lived near a sears

I break my Craftsman tools all the time at work. Mostly torx and allen socket bits, but I have broken a couple ratchets and sockets too. I guess you just have to use them a lot to break them. It's no big deal though seeing how Sears is right down the road and they replace the tool no matter what. Something I like about Craftsman is if you have a stuck allen bolt, their allen bits are so crappy they usually strip out instead of the bolt. So you don't get the bolt stuck in there with a stripped head. Just put the stripped bit in a vice, break off the end, and go get a new one.

Oh i agree, i'd much rather have Snap-On, but geez man i'd have to take out a loan just to get a set. Also, you might break Craftsman and have to get them exchanged, but try finding a Snap-On store 5 minutes from your house!

Exactly. We have a Snap-On guy that comes to my work, but we're lucky if he shows up once every other week.

I'll bet my Craftsman sockets can tighten a bolt as well as the Snap On tools.

Lol, from what? You wondering what your xmas gift could be? Lol.

Maybe your mom got you something non car specific. Car wax, tools, a ford key chain. Something. Did you at least pick it up. A weight/shake test is nessessary for optimum gift guessing. Every 5 year old knows that.

hmmm.... engine swap check......suspension upgrade check....routine matanince check....tune up on vert check.....engine swap on buddy car check..... new tranny in buddy car check......crotch rocket upgrades check....repaired crash damage check.....

it appears that despite the fact that crafstsman is not a snap-on it will still spin the nut bolt or faster on and off with quite a bit of success

Well.. turns out this christmas was more for my pony than me

The little box at moms turned out to be an autmeter gauge cage (my gauges were taped to the bottome side of the dash )

I also got:

- UPR Upper and Lower Rear Control Arms
- UPR Supercharger Power Pipe
- Full Length (36+ inches) Subframe Connectors
- Billet Steel 28oz SFI Flywheel (for the new stroker build)
- Hoosier racing Slicks

If I can't launch now.. I should consider myself pretty much worthless...

Both points I agree with. I have a $20 Craftsman 3/8" ratchet set that has seen hammers and cheater bars galore. It's dinged all to hell, but it still works. I have a Snap-On 3/8" ratchet that I actually broke with just muscle power. The only Craftsman part I've broken was a 22mm socket at the end of an 18" breaker. I got a new one the same day and buying it would have been a whopping $5. I still have the broken $60 Snap-On ratchet because the trucks are a PITA to find. Snap-Ons are tons nicer, but if they're no more durable, how is the cost justified?

It's aggrivating...
