Its dead...then alive, now dead againg..??

My brother wen't go start his 90lx(stock) to go to work and there was nothin; no power, no lights...nothing. Next day he checked that battery and looked around, every thing looked okay, went to go start it and every thing was fine. He shut it off and started it again; then a third and nothing again??? So now its dead again I'm clueless as to what the problem is....so please help me solve this mystery

Was the battery jumped to start the car? Maybe it is a bad ignition switch that is intermittent.

Def sounds like some sort of connection problem.

another vote for a bad connection, esp the battery ground.

maybe tighten down the terminal clamps more.

My brother had the same thing, its a bad connection, maybe a lil corrosion on the terminals.

Agreed I had something like that happen, battery terminals were dirty.

Three parts come to mind for me:

1. Selinoid

2. Starter

3. Ignition Switch

It's doubtful it is the battery if what you say is going on is going on.

Check your ground cable. I had the same problem on mine a couple months ago. Ground cable became corroded where I had it bolted to the frame (battery relocated to trunk). I'd try to start the car and would have no power at all, then I'd check the battery, wiggled the cables and tried to start it and it was fine, then i'd try again and bam it was dead. When i'd wiggle the cable, the ground would make good contact for a second then after the car started and shook it lost connection.

obviously a bad connection, probably on the terminal or a bad ground as suggested.

a starter/solenoid/ignition switch shouldnt cut all power to the car.

Check the fuse links as well. When I was loosing all power it turns out that I one of my fuse links were bad.
