I just had my 3.73's installed in my wifes 07GT 5spd last Sat. I am going back to the dealer tomorrow to have my speedometer corrected. My buddy is tellin me with the factory computer all he can do is change the ratio to 3.55 and then adjust my tire diameter to handle the rest of the diffrence, I think it will work but why would fords computer only have the gear option of 3.31 and 3.55? Is it because thats the only gear they offer from the factory? Anyways just wanted to see if any of you guys have done or heard of this. These are the gears I talked about last week the ones i got installed for a 125 bucks!!!(parts and labor) It was a ford gear set too!!!

A Predator Tuner will fix it for ya. There are options for all the major gear ratios.

Problem with the limited changes Ford can make is going to be if/when you change tire size. The money you saved on the gears, put towards a tuner. Like anti said, it will allow for the 3.73s plus a bunch of other things as well as picking up about 20 RWHP.

I do plan on buying a tuner soon but for the time being i think this will work fine. The car only has 1000 miles on it. So i wont be puttin tires on it anytime soon. My wife is pissed about her speedometer bein off so this is just a temp solution. When i do get a tuner will it be able to bypass and fix everything i change at ford today?

tuner is the only way without hacking the computer, I left mine alone

With a tuner you will be able to select the 3.73s and put the tire height back(my SCT has it in incriments of 5 for tire Revs Per Mile...not sure what means other tuners use).

Can you do the tire height for front and back like if u had 255s and 275s? or is just general and do 255's and not worry bout the lil diff in the rears? noob question

You only need to worry about the rear tire size. When I had my gears done I called B.F. Goodrich to get my exact tire rpm and loaded it through my sct tuner, it is easy enough to do. Don't worry about the noob questions either, I have been around here for a while now and 99.9% of these guys are great about helping out.

Yeah, you only need rear size. tirerack.com is a good place to get tire info from if not directly from the manufacturer.
Without ?s most forums would be ghost towns...ask away
