It's Grilling Time! The Official Stangnet Grill/Smoke Thread

It alive!! Lol. Well kinda. The grill is usable. I ordered the needed hardware today it should be here in a few days. I've got to build a cart for it. I've got ideas ranging from super simple to full blown out door kitchen stuff.

What kind of wood would you guys suggest for holding up well outside?

Teak......used for boats
Cedar...... tough outside but is soft and turns silver
Redwood......see above
Acacia........ Koa is one of the many species in this lovely red brown family
Ipa........usually a decking board
Mahogany.......strong but reasonable to work

In-ground Pressure treated 4x4 or 6x6. Particulalry, if you plan to leave it outdoors and/or put wheels on it.

If you decide to put wheels on it, use inflatable wagon wheels. The size of your base depends on how top-heavy that thing is.

I bought a pork butt, cheap stuff here. $15 for an eight pound butt. Here it is seasoned.

It’s pretty close to being wrapped up right now, I’ll post a picture of how it looks then.

This is my first shoulder/butt. It’s supposed to be fairly simple.
