Jacking Rail

Hi everyone,

I do like the idea of metal tubing welded behind stock pinweld to lift our car. I'm looking to build one by myself like KB or Stifflers does. Here's my question for those who have taken that road before;

I was looking to use 1" x 1" x 1/8" steel tubing. On the driver side, it side flush with the pinchweld, almost hidden. My concern is on the passenger side where the floorpan seems different and I only have place between 5/8" to 3/4" deep. Honestly, I dont think I would be a good idea to use a 3/4" x 3/4" tubing for strength purpose. Did you botter on this and how did you make it work?

Yes I do and I actually already use them as a lift point.

I have something similar to the Kenny Brown pieces.
Except that mine are two piece in that they fit on both sides of the jacking rail and bolt in.
They work very well.

Had to crawl under the car. Don't know if these pic's are quality enough to show them.
If memory serves me, I believe I got these from JBA back in the day.

Thanks for the pictures. I was thinking braces would be inside and not outside. That's interesting. You look to have a GT so skirts hide almost everything while in my case, I do have a LX and that's why I'm asking those questions.

The car is a Saleen. Different side skirts than a GT

You are right but I do have to figure it out what I'll do with my LX

Almost all the aftermarket kits tied them into the sub frames. Here's KB kit using 1x1 and gives a good look at the p/s rail

Thank you. Thats really interesting cause thats the video I've watched last night and when looking closely, we clearly see difference in deep passenger vs driver side.

Yes I know that. I will build a similar kit myself but my concern was about deep difference from passager vs driver floorpan.

In the video post earlier, I clearly see pan is different from side to side so I dont have to worry about.
