Jasper Engines

Anyone out there have a rebulit enigine from Jasper?? Any info about them? Are they any good... Any info will help thank you...

I don't know much about them, but they seem to be good. They have warehouse two suites down from where i work. Engines going out all the time.

So far I've only seen one reference to Jasper engines here. Just make sure you "know" what you're getting and what was put into the engine. Someone in this forum had ordered one and called them to find out what pistons and rods were intalled. At that point I guess they couldn't find their ass with both hands. I never did find out if he'd ever gotten his answer from them. Just a heads up.

ive been told that i have a jasper crate engine. however i dont really know because the previous owner did it. runs good to me, but i know nothing about it

Your much better off with a DSS, CHP, Probe, ect engine. I work in a shop and we use Jasper engines because of their avaliability and that they will pay us labor if it goes bad, and it usually does. My buddy is currently replacing his tranny for the 5th time in his F-body, 4 of them have been from Jasper, he has a 75K warranty on it, so far the last one lasted the longest and that was 16K miles.

i sell rebuilt engines and trannys. I deal with recon, but i hear nothing but good things about jasper engines. You could probably get somethijng with a little better performance for not too much more money if your looking for it. Nomatter what company rebuilds a tranny, they always seem to come back. It seems like they are harder to rebuild or something. I recommend the person not to get the rebuilt trannys from us because they always come back with problems.

we use nothing but oem engines in our shop.i have seen people tear jasper and recon engines down and find missmatched heads,different bore pistons and so on.not something i want in my or a customers car.

I deal with jasper at work all the time. We have never had a problem with any of there products. I got quote for myself for a 5.0 shortblock. It was $795 for stock, $1350 for high performance, and $1950 for high performance with forged internals. But they couldn't give me specs on the motor untill it was built. I don't know about you but i want to know what cam, rods, pistons, ect. are going in before i commit to that build.

I have a jasper engine in my car. Never had one problem with any of the rotating assembly. The motor is making close to 450HP for the past four years with no problems. Sig has not been updated in a while.

We've had a few run ins with them here at work (Ford dealer) and have had nothing but bad luck with them. There's a reason why they have the labor warranty and high mileage warranty. Its like a lifetime warranty alternator from Autozone. You'll be back again and again and again.....

I have checked them out and they are top shelf but you will pay more than other rebuilders. You get what you pay for. Go to their Web site...pretty interesting.
