Jasper

This is my problem.
My motor is slowly getting old like all motors do and things are starting to go out. My dad decided he wanted to check on prices for me of just getting a motor from Jasper. I know they are good motors and have a warrenty but the thing is, I heard they were just the longblock and that i would still have to buy all the other parts to install onto it to finish it *off the motor i have now*, which is fine with me. Now my question is if i buy the longblock for my 1996 mustang gt but i buy a 99gt motor instead, what all wont bolt up that i would need to buy? It came out for a 1996 mustang gt sohc motor to be around 3700. then it would cost 1700 for the shop to install. so around 5000. i could definately fix ALL my problems and even get a 5speed tranny swap.

The route i wanted to take was just rebuild what I have now and do some work onto it with the estimated amount that we get from the shop but the only problem is there would be no warrently that jasper can offer.

Basically the point of this thread is to kinda prove to my father that what i want to do is cheaper and would probably be a better route but if he doesnt want to go that way, at least try and get a 99gt motor and what all i would need to do to install that. would the 96 parts bolt right up?

Sorry for the long thread but id really like some positive feedback.

well listen. i talked with my father and i can fix all my motor problems, get new shocks, struts, and spings, and also a t45 tranny and the rest of the swap for less than what hes trying to dish out. it will save him money and my car wont be built up but built back to factory. no more probs and he isnt spending money on performance. the motor will be taking to a local place around me called abacus racing where the machine work will be done *dad agreed on this* and then the rest of the work will be done by myself and my best friend. i know my dad is willing to pay the 4200 but i mean damn, im trying to help him out and get what i want outta it. im not trying to be a pain but my way is cheaper and it will be the same thing as what he wants to go buy but CHEAPER!

yeah but building what i have now is cheaper. the shop Abacus Racing, they do amazing work. i trust them completely and all they are doing is the machine work. all the rest is me and a friend. but yeah, my dad is all about the "warrenty" that jasper can offer that me and my friend cant.

thanks 96scstang. thats exactly what I want to do. my father on the other hand wants to spend 4200 on a jasper motor. im slowly being able to reason with him though so hopefully ill be able to do it my way. haha. thanks guys. any tips on where to get good stuff for a cheaper price? not ebay cuz ebay is already my best friend hahaha.
