Hello! New to the board... Former BIGTIME F-Body guy... Had four Camaros, two of which were 2000 and 2001 SS's.... Left the GM world though...

Picked up a dead sexy 2004 Mustang GT... Comp. Orange... 5 speed... I want this car to sound very different... At the moment I have factory exhaust w/ a cat back system from ARK Speedracing... The cat back as pretty expensive but that's not a huge deal. The car does sound awesome with this cat back. Very quiet inside, great low rumble outside with no "cackle" sounds...

Here's my problem: I want long tubes and a catted H pipe on this thing. Bad. I have been reading, researching, listening to audio files.... So far I think I would like to get my hands on the JBA Long Tubes w/ a mid-H pipe w/ only 2 cats... I have a straight H pipe (no cats) and its obnoxious and smells terrible... The problem lies with the sound... Newer to Mustangs, I've not heard many cars around HERE that have this same setup... So far, NONE I have seen have the ARK cat back which is nice becuase my car doesn't sound like every other Summit Racing fan's Flowmaster'ed GT... Now... Flowmaster is amazing exhaust, don't get me wrong :)

Does anyone out there have : 2004 Mustang GT, JBA LT's, Mid Cat H-Pipe, ARK Catback? Or the JBA/H/Flow ?? I need feedback on these LT's... I Really want to get them but if it sounds like hell Im not going to... I'm not used to tiny V8's yet... those big badass LS1's sounded AWESOME w/ SLP LT's, no cats, and Flowmaster, all 3"... and deep rumble with no crackle... I hate crackle... NO CRACKLE!! Help?

Thanks!

I have the JBA Headers and I love them but I have a totall different setup. JBA LTs, Custom Magnaflow O/R X, and magnaflow Catback. The LTs deffinatley made the car sound deeper and meaner. I wouldn't change a thing with it.

cats???

lol, dude, straight pipe that thing with some nice mufflers, and how can you hate the smell, omg.......that smell is like food for my stomach. But glad to have you on the Ford side, not that anything is wrong with Chevy, but the more the merrier. Oh, and why did you leave the SS? that is is just a straight beast man.

+1, LS1s are a heck of a motor but welcome to the stang gang.:nice:

Left because of money, naturally... kept breaking rear ends, money was tight, better off to sell it at the time (3 years ago) so... time for another muscle car, mine got my attention :) Here's why...

DUDE YOU NEED FAT RIMS FOR YOUR CAR.......
DUDE HOW BOUT NOT!

:nice:

The stock rims are fine... why the hell would I waste money on rims? Especially in OHIO... Low-Profile tires here = bent rims and money wasted!:nono:

And honestly the color was one major determining factor in buying this car... It's not like every other Mustang you see around here... If it were white, red, black, blue... I'd have never bought it. I got it because its different... hence not getting the saaaaaaaaaaaame flowmaster / bbk setup that everyone else has... Had I found the 99-02 Red Hardtop WS6 or SS that I really REALLY wanted... I'd be driving that :) But, decided to get the mustang and so far have not regret it... I am fearing I will when I take it out this spring to a track and see just how much slower it really is compared to my LS1's... :( Then .... comes .... the .... mods ....

Wouldn't think so, but I would like it to sound nicer... I figure if I do the entire exhaust and upgrade some of the things choking the car out (intake/air delivery) it may wake up a bit... be more fun to drive

 dude look at you picture your front wheel sticking out wider than your rear's but truth so you need to get 10.5 for the beck and 9 inch for the front so you can mount 315 on the back and 275 on the front.....................but you don't have to lessen to me take look at some pictures and See for your self....

I think long tubes help, but my definition of full is exhuast includes not having cats....at all. and of course an o/r x or h:shrug:

Not having cats is an O/R X or H pipe. A full exhaust is Headers, Midpipe, and Catback. Some states you can't have an O/R midpipe and technically its not "legal" anywhere.

Headers help alot more than midpipe too.

Longtubes dont help as much on 2V's as they do on LSX's, but they do help quite a bit... On my Mach, the LT's were the best sotp mod i ever did....

yeah, i remember tellin us it was the best mod.
its not too loud though, cause im catless on the 98 GT, but im worried if i get headers its gonna really be loud.....kinda worried about it being annoying loud. is it ok for u ?
