Headers (of any kind) have proven to give very little bang for the buck on this current group of Ford Module Motors.

That money is better spent elsewhere in my opinion .... a Tune and CAI for example.

yeah headers are not worth it on a 3.8 either for an NA setup but with a procharger or nitrous they might be worth the investment.

the 4.0 isn't a modular motor. it shares nothing with any other ford engine except heritage from the Cologne V6's

Modular V8's share alot of parts between displacements hence the modular name

Sorry,,, I was being too inclusive by lumping the V8 AND the 6's together. I've also heard that the headers are next to useless on the V8's as well.

You're right in the fact that the shorty headers are next to useless on the V6 and the V8, but the JBA long tube headers will give you around 35 extra horses. I don't know if there are any long tube headers for the V6 at least I haven’t seen any. So I don't know what kind of power they would give you.

There was quite a bit of difference with my jba headers. A noticeable power increase, harder, faster revs and a wonderful new, snarling sound that quite surprised me when I first fired 'er up.

Here's a clip just after install.... doesn't do it justice... they seemed to have smoothed out over the months.

When the 05's came out, all the talk was about how Ford plugged up the exhaust on the 4.0L's so they wouldn't compete so directly with the GT. Removing restrictions in the airflow (intake or exhaust) is never a bad idea.

35 from LT's alone on a 6 banger is hard to imagine. Are you sure you don't mean in combination with a new exhaust system and a tune?

No, 35 from LT's on the V8. Sorry for the confusion. I stated that I don't know how much power you can achieve on the V6 because I've yet to see any numbers. In fact I've yet to see any LT's for the V6. Does anyone know if there are any?

MAC makes them, one of the members here is gonna get them and post dyno sheets. They are on my long term plan, but not in the short term.

Wait a minute, that's me! Yes, I am pulling the trigger on some LT Headers, a MAC Prochamber, and MAC SS exhaust. Expensive, to be sure, but it should last longer than the car.... I will let everyone know how they perform as soon as I get them on, tuned, and dyno'd. After that, I will probably add some pulleys. I want to see how much RWHP I can get from my car before running Zex. I am shooting for 230-240... which puts me at about 265-275 at the flywheel...

don't get a prochamber. they actually slow down exhaust velocity and cause a slight restriction compared to an X or H. the exhaust gasses enter the chamber and bounce around before they get squeezed back down to mid pipe diameter. this causes a high pressure area and alittle more back pressure than desired.

this is why Chambered mufflers generally lag behind straight through Pack style mufflers in power production. you are better off with a MAC H-pipe

every test i have ever seen the prochamber laged behind all others in HP by about 3-7 hp

my friends 93 GT lost 6rwhp on a Dynojet when he swapped a prochamber in place of his bassani X. he quickly put the X back on and sold the prochamber
