JBA labor quote

So in regards to my 8.8 rebuild and 3.73 gear install, JBA quoted me at 570 for the labor...does that sound right?

I've heard about 400 for install of gears...would a rebuild really cost 170?

No I have the parts. I have the rebuild kit AND the gears. They quoted me just on the labor.

Labor for my Rear end Build was $300. It ended up being about $600 with Parts and Labor....I Had a Auburn LSD and 3.73s installed.

Hell i had an 03/04 diff, install kit, 31 spline axels and new 3.73's done in half a day(shouldn
t take any longer) for just under $400.

everyone i call in RI and MA, is between 4-500 bucks installed with parts out the door. 90% of the shops will charge more if you dont use FRPP parts, its easier to install ford parts than to use Motive gear's junk parts or yukon or richmond.

My quote for 250 was to install all new bearings including axle bearing, rebuild clutch pack and install 4.10's

I'm in MA. I paid 175 for my gear install. It was about 8 years ago though!

i fully think gear install prices are dependent on the area. around here, average shop rate is about $100 an hour.

And it doesn't take more than 2 hours so $200 seems about right if you supply all the parts.

yes but book time and actual time are 2 very different things.

Call up CE Racing in Milford, MA. They charge $200 given you supply gears, oil, friction modifier, and it will be done within 2 hours.

I couldn't see paying over $300 for the rebuild/gear install though every area does differ when it comes to pricing.
