New to this site and I just finished a resto mod of my 73 Mach 1. Still doing tweaks and mods already to improve it some more so it will probably always be a work in progress.

My thought during the build was to keep it looking close to what it looked like when it was new but to also bring it up to todays technology. Due to this being the last year of the 1st gen Mustangs and emissions, performance was pretty much gone by then. Here is some of the changes that I made:

351C
10.5 : 1 CR
closed chamber 62cc heads, 2.19 I & 1.71 E
Harland Sharpe roller rockers and guide plates
Eagle forged rods
Wiseco forged flat top pistons
Herbert 290* duration cam.
Blue Thunder Manifold Intake
Blue Thunder Valve covers
MSD EFI set up to control ignition timing.
MSD dizzy
MSD ignition box
Serpentine belt system
1 wire 140A alternator

C6 tranny with 2800 stall
Gear Vendor OD
3.89 Tru Trac 9in rear with Wilwood Disks
** currently adding B&M Hi-Tek oil cooler for tranny

Hooker Super Comp headers
Pypes Exhaust with 3" tips

Attaching a few before/after pics, if you have any questions let me know.

Installed a transmission oil cooker last weekend and put a few miles on it. The computer is still learning the optimal settings but it ran like a champ. There were no misses, backfires, etc and the EFI systems worked perfectly. Got the car up to 75mph and was turning about 2700 rpm with the 3.89 rear. Attaching a couple of pictures but I didn't have one with the lines attached. I used braided hoses with AN fittings and had no leaks.

Modified the car to get a RAM Air system installed. Using a MSD 8580 distributor which has a height of 9" so it wouldn't clear the air cleaner base, Had to modify the base to get it to fit. Also using a Blue Thunder intake so I had concerns about the air cleaner sitting too high and the hood not closing. In the end I got it all worked out and the system is installed and working. Some pics of the new setup and one of before the mod.
