Just curious if it would be possible, and if it would be a good idea to coat an upper and lower intake...

Preaty sure jet-hot is a ceram. powdercoat.

Since you can powdercoat an intake...you should be able to jet hot one too.

here is my silver metalic powdercoated exploder intake

You can definitely do it. The holley systemax II comes jet hot coated in box stock form.

I don't know if it'll help much performance wise, but it'll look great. Anybody know what it runs to get parts coated?

Send Onebad95 a PM as he may be able to steer you to someone that does it for a reasonable price.

I jet hot coated my Vic Jr intake. Matches the polished elbow and parts perfectly. Only thing you have to do is sand it down smooth before you coat it or it will be gray since it doesn't shine until they make it shine after coating it. You can't buff and polish inside the pits of cast aluminum so you have to smooth it out nice. The quality of the finished product will depend on how well it's prepped. If you look at my engine, the lower intake and induction tube coming off the TB are both coated, the elbow is polished. You decide if they match. I forget how much it cost though. One nice thing about jet hot coating vs. polishing. I never have to buff it out. Pretty much just wipe it down, maybe a little mothers once a yr or so but not very often.

I would def say it would keep things a tad cooler, prob cost a couple hundred bucks

But would look insane specially on Low5.0s motor!

Thanks guys, I'll keep this in mind this winter. I really need to get my headers coated, so maybe I'll get the intake done at the same time.

Jet- Hot or ceramic coat the upper...you can polish it by using 2000 grit wet sandpaper and Mothers Billet aluminum polish.
