I know how to do my own oil changes and whatnot but i hate disposing of the junk after the job so this time i took it to the jiffy lubers.Heres my fun story of the day... They guy kept flinging my door open and i was thinking..."dammit one of these times hes going to open my door and slam it on the wall"... i just knew it, and sure enough he did, but no damage at all so its good. Then he says what oil do you want? i said well i have heard synthetic is better for your car and it is ok to switch as long as it has low mileage... i got 29k. I asked the guy if it costs the same as their normal service, he said yes. After it was all done i went to go pay and it came up to 60$ im like WTF?! i went and asked the guy what the deal was and he says... i told you it costs more  im like :bs: :bang: :bang: :bang: heres my credit card :owned:

That has happened to me. I hadn't started my 5.0 in months and I decided to take it to Jiffy Lube to get the oil changed. Basically, the car was wayyy to low to get into the shop, scraped over the thing you have to drive over. I told them I wanted synthetic... and I walked out w/ a 75 doller charge.
Apparanty its 30 bucks just to get your oil changed, and then 30 more dollars here to get Mobil 1. And then MORE money for a different filter than the "normal" one they put on. It sucks. i'll be doing my oil myself form now on.

what a lot of people do (what i do when i'm in a situation where I can't get to my ramps and such equipment) i'll go to the store buy the filter and oil, then take it down to a place like big 10 tires (where i go) and i'll pay them $10 and they change it and rotate the tires for me. Not a bad deal

yea its called bs...you got owned...so has a lot of people. I don't pay places to change my oil but i know some people don't have that luxury. Although, i would recommend paying to have your coolant flushd unless you have a huge container to hold it all. I did this myself and found out that with all the water i ran through my system, i probably produced about 40-50 gallons of toxic water. lol...oh well...i tried..

Mobile 1 5w30 plus oil filter cost me 28 bucks..... 60 is a total rip off. i asked express oil change how much to change my oil, 30 bucks, how much to change to mobile 1 (2.25 more per quart so 5 quarts is 11.50 more) they wanted to go from 30 to 55 bucks..... what a rip off. i go to ford take my own stuff they charge me 6 bucks to do the labor its worth it to not mess with getting oil on me and jacking up the car all that and they top of all your fluids for free :)
