i've decided on a program to fix my idle, and I heard that the pms unit does a good job as well as the jms chip. I will have to do it mail order so I was wondering if it is worth it to go with the chip considering that is just 300 compared to the 850 of the tuner. I am trying to buy a house right now so the tuner may make it a little tough on my but in time I want a sc or cam. I will most likely need a reburn or a tuner for that.

What is you guys opinion?

tom

Im sure you will be able to find a tuner that can run your PMS for you. I would go this way instead of a chip. If you do plan to get a chip then get a custom unit burned. PLEASE, PLEASE TO NOT BUY A OFF THE SHELF CHIP.

Go with JMS... They are absolutely a joy to deal with. Great customer service and a great product.

I agree, my JMS chip has been great, car hasn't died yet. I have a surging idle at start up for the first couple seconds but that goes away. Not only did the chip completely straighten out my driveability problems, but I also gained alot of power.

I would never buy a off the shelf chip. I don't know how they could know about you mods any better than the stock computer. I think I will call jms comsidering the good things i've heard about them and my money situation.

Thanks,
tom

Hey zenboy last time I sawy you at GLD you only had a performer...when did you get all this stuff done! Also, how's your friend Green LX stroker doing...Oh and I sent you a pm about your wedding but you never replied!
Sorry I know this is :OT:

Hey NIN I plan on getting a JMS chip but I'm pretty much done with my motor except nitrous. You could always get a four position chip (I plan to do that) from them and get it tuned however you want. That is if you know what kinda blower and stuff you will be running and boost and so on. ne with the pms then go with that. Also, before you buy any kind of tuner see what your local speed shop will work with. Also, how much would they charge you for that stuff. If there tuning costs are high it may be better (cheaper) to reburn
a JMS chip.

Go-stang, good to hear from you. I"ll answer your PM when I have the time.

The custom JMS chip comes with 3 different tunes that can be changed with a switch. Plus you get to send it in for a reburn up to 60 days later for free, thats a pretty good deal for $325 shipped.
