If anyone remembers and thinks about it, I could use a hatch latch striker - the formed wire that's bolted to the hatch that the lock catches. Mine gave up the ghost and broke. I've welded it a couple times already but I'm afraid all of the heat cycles had gotten to it and one piece is now just completely missing.

Was only 8.30$ so no worries, sorry it has so much latch wear on it. Hopefully better than what you got though.
