Just back from Fun Ford Weekend in Epping NH

What a great weekend of racing back east! Lars Michelson, One of our customers flew Chung and I back to New Hampshire to tune his car thursday and attend the Fun Ford Weekend event Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We ended up with 831 hp and 782 ft lbs of torque before the supercharger transmission gave up on us Thursday. I think it still had some more in it but I guess we will have to wait and see after the Blower gets freshened up. At the race there were 3 pro 5.0 cars in the 6.50 at 214 to 222 mph range. Several outlaw cars in the 7's and some low 8 second drag radial cars. The street bandit cars were in the mid 8s and the street warrior cars were in the low to mid 9s. The track was nice and almost every car hooked up well. I would highly recommend attending one of these events. We will be taking between 4-6 cars from the shop to the Fun Ford Event in Cali this year. It is not as large an event as back east but still a great sight to see. The California Fun Ford Weekend is at California Speedway on October 1-2. It should be a fun event for those who can get away for the weekend.

It should be interesting to see how the turnout is this year since the west coast races will count towards the 2006 points. Should be more of the "big boys" there than in years past.

Big E, I am sure your planning on attending, but do you plan on running?

Got any pictures Jeff? Sounds like it was a kick azz time. Did you do any work on Lars Cobra? WTF did Chung louie do the whole time :D

Honestly i'm probably not even going to attend. My car isn't legal for anything but Outlaw or True Street in FFW and I'm not going to drag the car all the way down there to pay $65 to run a bracket race with a $100 purse. If I fly out to watch a race this year it'll probably be the Street Car Super Nationals in Vegas, they've got some big $$$$$ purses and should attract the best of the best from all over the country, similar to the Orlando race.

Hey Jeff, the relatively poor turn out at woodburn this weekend has inspired me to run the car. I need a new NX fogger and mounting bung. Can we get it on the dyno and put a little more aggressive tune on it? I would like to run at PIR in the next few weeks? I may be interested in going to cali too? Give me a call.

Well...it looks like FFW did an about face again on the west coast races, they won't be points races and will have similar rules to what they had in past years. That being said I just may have to truck down there and run the cobra in DR if things go smoothly between now and then.

Got my fingers crossed.
