Well got into my stang this morning and started it up, drove for just about one minute, heard a loud pop looked under the hood saw my coil pack and spark plug blew out of the head.... FAIL Looks like its time for some ported heads.

Are these still the original plugs or have you changed them?

I checked mine on my 04Gt and they were rock solid at 13 ft-lbs.

I showed this to a buddy w/ an ' 01 GT- is this common ?

And, can you do the repair ( if needed ) w/ the head on the car ? It looks like you could - ?

Aluminum heads sometimes scare me - I know when we did a tune up session on my buddy's Land Cruiser & mine ( aluminum head straight 6 cylinder ) I was very careful pulling the plugs - read that sloooooooooooooooooooowly ! with the engine cold, and we used plenty of never seize on the plugs going back in.

Anyway, back to the 4.6 head/plugs - ?

Thanks !

Happened to my on an 01. Happened out of nowhere. I fixed it with a 11.99 Murrays Heli-Coil from the HELP! rack. Lasted the rest of the time I kept the car and I sold it....with no problems.
