As I posted about 2 months ago, my friend had a 5.4 Liter SOHC for sale. It has PI 4.6 Heads and has all wiring harness, ect. I bought the motor for $500. I am going to build the motor, then when my motor gets weak i will put it in my car. This way I wont have a deadline and have to get the motor done. I am looking to start the project soon. What crank, rods, pistons, bearings would be the best? The motor is going to be Sprayed so I need it to take nitrous with no problems. I was thinking valve train : VT Stage III's, Comp Cams Valve springs and more! Also I will probably need a really good tuner like SCT to help me tune when i get the motor in. What do you guys think?

A lot of 5.4's came with steel cranks if they were in HD trucks. No need to buy a cast crank as that's the low end, standard factory crank. But it's still plenty strong. If the crank has 8 bolts fro the flexplate it may very well be a factory steel crank.

All the windage trays I have seen for the 4.6L blot to the main girdles, so you may need to add that to your list. The one at DSS was like $370.00. But I don't know. Someone please correct me if I am wrong and let me know where to find a windage tray for our motors that can bolt right up or use other main bolts.

yeh the motor was out of a 1998 or so, Ford F-250. So it should have the steel crank.

It may indeed.

What are you gonna do for an intake? Are you gonn apoke around and find intake spacers for a PI intake, or do you have some other plan?

I am going to buy a New PI Intake, 24lb Injectors and put it on the motor (I am deffinetly not going to run the truck intake). Then I will probably run a BBk Plenum and a 75mm Throttle Body. Is this what you mean?? sorry got kinda confused

where is a good place to buy 5.4 Liter Pistons and Rings at a Decent Price? I checked VT Engines and they only have 2 companies to choose from and they are pretty high.

Ok. You do realize the PI intake is not a direct bolt on right?

Does a blow by blow pictorial of this swap exist anywhere?

Does anyone sell, or offer the plans for, the spacer/adapters for the intake?

i believe reichard racing sells the plates. but consider using a 4.6 4v intake instead. you give up too much power with a small pi.
