Hi, I just bought a 90 gt with a new motorsport 302 create motor, BD-11a charger,BBK upper and lower, BBK headers,BBK rails, complete msd ignition,be cool radiator and elec fan set up ect ect..... The motor seems to be pro installed but not completely finished.. I just got a good look at the engine comp. and there is no spot for the 02's on the headers and no o2's present, that is most likely the reason for the mass air not being plugged in. If I plug the mass air in the car runs very rich and wants to stall. Is there a way around that?? The fuel pump makes alot of buzzing noises and car stumbles and dies when it gets real loud, so I am thinking it needs a new pump. Can I just replace the pump in the tank with a stock fuel pump or do I need to upgrade do to the charger needing more fuel??? Sorry if these questions sound stupid. This is really my first time working with a car that is supercharged.

Thanks, Jesse

you will need to upgrade the pump...really never makes sense to go back to a stocker when the oportunity arises to replace. A nice walbro 255 unit is a very common upgrade and will supply more than adequate fuel for your combo. First you need to locate the O2 sensor locations on the harness and either install or have bungs installed in your system. Once that's complete then pull the codes and see what the car is telling you it needs looked at. Untill you've corrected these issues I would avoid driving or at least any heavy RPM driving to avoil possible lean coditions that could damage the motor. Running a charger I would not hesitate to find a local dyno and schedule some roller time to see how the A/F situation is AFTER the code issues/ any problems have been looked at.

The O2 sensors go into the H-pipe. Check underneath the car.

Replace the fuel pump with a larger one. You need it for the blower! It's the same installation process and you can get a huge one for ~$100. Makes no sense to put a stocker back in, considering that.

The mass air thing, I'm unsure. I'd guess the car hasn't got a tune on it and it's basically on borrowed time (in operation) as far as its current setup is concerned. Things can only work improperly for so long before you have to bite the bullet and do it the right way. I understand it wasn't your build, but the point remains. That could be it, or the meter could be shot. Try swapping out for another. While you're at it, larger-than-stock injectors wouldn't be a bad idea either.

WOW, thanks for the quick response guys. I will look under the car and check the h pipe for the 02's if there are none where would I get these bungs?? Can I get a bigger pump at my local auto parts store or Jeg, Summit better.

Thanks again, Jesse

Most H pipes have the revisions for them, check first.

Summit, Jegs, Mustangs Unlimited, etc. All those places have them. What's your setup? Most likely a 255lph pump will be what you want. Don't forget that even if you're getting too much fuel, the return system on the car will feed it back to the tank. It won't be wasted or flood you out or anything like that.
