Alright guys, just bought them today. I need some assurance that i did the right thing and i will like them. As of right now i can barley peel out in my auto so i was sick of it and put the money down for the gears and install. I just hope that its enough. Whats your experience with the gear. Thanks alot and i will re-post in here when i get them installed. Hopefully by friday.

Expect to leave long black line behind you . Traction is going to be a real issue for you now. If you are going to sell the stang why spend $$ on gears for the next person to enjoy?

. Good choice. Just to let you know some auto guy have had problem when using 4.10 the shift points get messed up and they have to use a chip to solve this problem.

if it becomes a problem, even though i dont really race, i have a neighbor that owns the twEEcer program so i can fix that. The only problem is that i cant really buy a shift kit yet cause i just got a new tranny from Ford that has a 3 yr warrenty from it. Oh well, if it blows, i get a free one!

I don'y know the exact details but a few guy here have had problems. I guess the computer is set up for the factory gears so by switching gears it throws the computer off it doesn't know it has lower gears.

That needs to be connected to the EEC at all times for it to work. So if it was on your car, his would run the stock program. It's not a attach and make changes, then detach and enjoy kinda thing. If he's not using it anymore and it can be permanately attached to your car, then your golden.

I don't know if you need that, though.

What is the point of this thread? Just to ask peoples opinions on 4.10's? Use the search featue & you will get 100 hits on this subject!

Oh, you for sure made the right decision.

Also a wise choice to keep the stang. I have let people drive my car just to hear it from the outside. It sounds so different.

I'm also looking looking at gears for my automatic but am now concerned with the shift point thing being messed up after reading this thread. Will I be ok w/ 3.73s or 3.55s?
