What started out as a subwoofer install has left the interior of my car bare. I first removed the hatch panels b/c they need replacing and tonight I pulled out the front seats, carpet, console, and shifter. All this b/c there is some rust on the floorpans behind the front seats. There are two small holes (pin holes). I going to add Second Skin Spectrum and Damplifier pro to the car for sound deadening but need to address the rust first. How?

I know I can sand it out and prime it but Ant. from secondskin told me about a product that you brush on the rust and it converts the rust into a metal like substrate. It doesn't strengthen the floor but stops the rust. Is there something like this that will strengthen the floor too?

What would yall do?

Well overall its not that bad. I've done a search and saw that someone recommends fiberglassing it. I just wanted to get some more opinions.

I guess Saturday is a little slow on the boards.

I just got back from local auto parts store and was looking at a Duplicator product that changes the rust into black primer. Anyone use it before?

I've decided that the holes are small enough that I'm just going to fiberglass it.

I've used the rust converter on my stang. Not the best product out there. Unfortunately it usually requires multiple coats and a primer/paint coat. Look for a product called POR-14 or 15. Its a brush on product that actually seals and converts the rust. I have heard great things about, matter of fact, my father swears by it. As far as the holes....Its not the right or best way, but will work in the abscence of a welder. Fiberglass them. Clean the surface, brush the resin on and matte over it. Apply multiple coats and layers. (boat repair kits can still be found around $15 dollars at WalMart)
