I just made the switch a little over a week ago from the 3.08 to the 3.73. IMO it made a huge difference in performance. The only concern I had, which I expected anyway, was the lack of traction at the track. I had spinning issues before with the 3.08 but now with the 3.73 there's no luck for me at the track with street tires anymore.

After I did my 5.0 stick swap, I still had the 2.73 gear, 7.5" ring gear, and NON-POSI rear end. A month later I installed my fully built 8.8 rear end with 3.73's and it was a huge difference. Felt like I added 50HP or more. You will noticed improved times in your 1/8 and 1/4 performance.

+1 I definetly agree with that one. I have the subframe connectors but I am in desperate need of sticky tires!

I am considering switching from stock 2.73's to 3.73's in my car, but I am scared like you about traction. As it is right now once I hit boost if my tires are spinning they stay spinning...if you drive your car a lot look into some Nitto DR's, they aren't as stick as the MT's but you won't get killed in the rain!

for what it's worth, I know different engine... but I had a '97 GT that I switched from 2.73 to 3.73 and it was a complete night and day difference, best thing I had ever did... I now have a 5.0 and am considering 4.10's (anyone here with fox's have 4.10's?)

I had 4.10s but I ditched them for 3.73s. I can launch the car alot better but the top end seemed to have dropped off.
