That's rediculous !

I'd call the place you bought it from and tell them to send you another unit ASAP all expenses paid.

this sounds like a question for the tweecer forum.

Why did you buy a tweecer if you don't even know what it will do?

It plugs in to the diagnostic port on your EEC, then you connect it to your computer with a USB cable. You can change a lot of things.

Don't you think he'll have a bit of a tough time without the manual and software that needs installing on his computer to just get started ???

That's just a minor issue I suppose

I see you've included a bunch of driver updates. I would expect a disc to come with my unit if I was buying one as well as a manual.

That's what I was thinking!!

How the H3ll can you spend $600 on something that controls your ENTIRE computer, and not research it until AFTER you get it .

NO WORRIES!!!!

1. If I can do it..ANYONE can.
2. There are no manuals or software with it..You have to go to the Tweecer.com site for that.

3. Follow the link to the forums and post your mods...ask someone to share their "initial" file with you based on similar mods.

4. I have the following controlled with mine:

-Thermactor (smog pump) and EGR off
-Early Fan settings
-Rev limiter and idle RPM's raised.
-Shift points and Tranny pressures (I have AODE)
-Calibration for 36# injectors (My ProM is for 30's)..can override with Tweecer
-Slight adjustments in Fuel Table.

THe biggest thing I left to do that I havent is +/- timing values based on RPM.

Since I have the BTM for now, I havent really messed with that.

GOOD LUCK!

The TwEECer is not plug & play, nor is it anything for someone who doesn't know anything about their car or computers (having car skills is more important than computer skills, however).

My thoughts:
1) Browse the TwEECer forums
2) Don't even bother with the GT calibration, use the J4J1 Cobra calibration as a starting point.
3) Have a look at other tunes people have posted for ones similar to your combo, I was able to get a great one from Daren Woodall, I only made minor mods to it for my usage and it saved me a lot of time.
4) Small changes. Repeat, small changes. And don't touch any setting if you haven't a clue about what its purpose is. Ford put a lot of effort into the calibration, and much of it won't need to be changed (or will actually hurt your performance if you do).

Hey you were the one giving me crap about playing with CAL Edit a few months back when I was doing my research, heh.

How does the car run as it is? The J4J1 calibration should probably make a pretty nice difference if you are running the stock one (no chip).

Remember, the TwEECer is not a mass market product. It was really meant for Mustangs and was kind of an experimental thing untill alot of people decided they wanted it since it's dirt cheap compared to other systems. They could pay some Ford guys and tuners to write up a huge book on using it, but that takes alot of time and the sales probably wouldn't pay for the costs.

BTW, if you have an aftermarket MAF, I have a spreadsheet you can use to enter in your flow sheet data. it uses a 6th order interpolation to find all 30 points.

I just installed my twEECer about a week ago so I'm still learning. Why are you starting with the J4J1 bin initially? I thought I read somewhere that it has a less aggressive timing curve or something like that. I try to read the twEECer boards but a lot of it is either very specific or too general, so I'm just trying to figure things out on my own.

For whatever reason (and the reasons are not 100% known) the GT calibration has difficulty accepting mods. The J4J1 calibration does have less aggressive timing & fuel curves, but aside from that it's actually quite a good starting point for modded engines. It is *much* easier to make the timing & fuel more aggressive in the J4J1 than it is to make the T4M0 calibration have good driveability. Many people have beaten their heads on T4M0 trying to figure it out, and failed...

Cool, my laptop should be here soon so maybe I'll try that out. All I've done so far is put in the 30lbs. injector settings in the MAF table, played with a few idle settings, little stuff like that. Is it pretty difficult to figure out a good timing and fuel curve? What kind of things do you look for when calculating those tables?

Well the curves aren't really calculated. Go to the tables, select the fields, hit ctrl+c then paste them into Excel. There you can graph them and see the patterns and can actually adjust the numbers from the graph itself and re-enter your new data into the tweecer. Just keep track of all your changes as you go along.

Hey I'm not sure what you're asking, did you want that spreadsheet? I don't have any actual flow data on me, just the method for interpolating between the data points that pro-m gives you with the sensor so that you can enter in the real MAF curve perfectly. If you want, I'll upload it and post the link.

OK, I'll get them up when I get off work in a few hours. So RC, are you running the stock MAF curve with just the calibrated MAF sensor?

I have the ProM 30 loaded. I have the injector slopes in the Scalars set for 36# injectors. Then I went back to the A/F Curve in functions and removed about 10% air flow since I was running really rich.

Vib was there when we put the injectors in...STARTED RIGHT UP, no surging, bucking, anything. Driveability is awesome. When I cruise around, you would think my car is stock until I get on it.
