Shew, not been the best week of my life thats for sure. But anyways, I noticed some oil on my 160 amp alt a day or so ago. So I figured the oil was comming from the blower. So I look at the bottom of the blower and see the oil on the smog pump. I wiped it off and I noticed it was dripping fairly quick. So yesterday the blower came off and I tightened the clamp on the hose that hooks to the oil return as tight as I could. Wiped the smog pump off and closed the hood. Today after I got home, opened the hood, and guess whats on the smog pump again. So, yesterday it felt like the oil was comming from below the oil return, but I figured where it sits at an angle it was running down to the bottom of the blower then dripping onto the smog pump. Now im not so sure, so I guess im going to take the blower back off and check yet again. Do these things usually have problems with leaking? All the reviews I read about Vortechs was that they are bulletproof. If a chance in hell that one would be leaking, of course it would be mine that does it. :bang: :nonono: Throw out some ideas, hopefully I wont have to put that 3 year warranty into use. If all things come to the worst would I just send the blower to Vortech? How long does it usually take for repairs? Thanks guys.

Don't use the teflon tape on the fittings, if anything use liquid. If the blower is leaking oil from the seal send it back and have it fixed, no blower is bullet proof and all the major players have had them come out leaking at one time or another, ATI, Vortech, Paxton, etc...

specially ATI.

I agree with Rick91GT...the seal might be messed up...send it back to Vortech...You should get it fairly soon...and if you bitch about it they can even put better propellers in there...I had a buddy with an SC-Trim that ended up getting a better propeller...I think it was for an S-Trim...

Ok, I will see what to do. I am going to take it off and try to tighten it as much as possible and make sure its not the seal. Hopefully its not, maybe they will give me a S-trim upgrade real cheap or something. Thanks for the help though.:nice:

Sorry more of us cant help you. Make sure the fitting for the oil return is tight also. Ive never seen this problem. But having to use you 3 year warranty is better than having no warraty at all. ;)
