Just got off the phone with Jeg's. I ordered a set of the new Jegs/Kaase heads for my 418.. They are supposed to be here in about two weeks.

I still plan on going with a EFI victor JR intake (Spyder). I have to call ed up and talk to him about a cam now.. I went with the hydr. roller spring setup..

IT cost me right at 1900 dollars... That includes the special valve covers and the special pushrods...1640 for the heads, 129 for valve covers, and 129 for pushrods. Everything else should bolt up like stock. I figured that wasn't bad at all considering that it cost just as much or more for the AFR 225's without pushrods and stuff.

They use a 1486 exhaust gasket, and a 1262 intake gasket.. There is supposed to be no issues with piston clearence/reliefs either... (these have 2.10/1.60 valves!!!)

For an instant i thought about putting these on my 331... Nah... Im pretty well done with modding that motor. (its on the verge of splitting anyway)

On a side note these heads hit the shelves next week. There was 138 orders in front of me. They said i should get mine in about 2 weeks.

Also this is almost like an investment. These heads could go up quite a ways in price after they are out for awhile or they could go down.. We will see.

That should be one wild 418. Are you going to get some forged pistons for it?

I would be sceptical of their no valve interference claim. I think they will need big reliefs if you have a cam that is made to take advantage of those heads.

That thing is going to be so tempting to rev. I hope your bottom end will hold up.

I've had my eye on those heads for about 7 months.....
Wish I could afford them, they cost as much as I'll have in my whole 393 block!

Yes i just ordered new probe forged pistons. With the heads they should be right at 10:1 compression. My bottom end is all forged now and im debating on wether to get a girdle or to covert to 4 bolt mains... The heads are suppose to need no valve relief up to like 255* duration (IF memory serves well)

From my understanding the way they are able to do this is because of how they canted the heads. The valves open up more directly into the cylinder bore. Also because of the way they did this there is supposed to be a very effective valve train geometry that uses standard rockers and will rev like crazy without problems.

There is a lot of debate over why its taken so long to get them on the market... I guess they have missed dead line after dead line? But the guys at Jeg's assured me that the first set are going out next week... He told me i should see mine in 2 weeks... WE WILL SEE!!!

I think you should get a girdle. I think it's probably more important to tie the caps together better. It's cheaper than a set of caps and a line hone also.
