Just purchased a 99 Vert...Clutch Question

You can always buy a quadrant adjuster the get things exactly how you like it, but the way you described the engagement point as being nearly all the way out... I think something maybe wrong. It's probably worthwhile to figure out what is going on before you buy anything.

1. Have you tried the stock self adjustment procedure? Grab the bottom of the clutch pedal and pull up pretty hard. Go for a drive and see if it adjusted for you.

2. Check to make sure the clutch is still good. Get yourself going up a steep hill at about 40 mph then shift to 5th gear and open the throttle. Do the rpms climb faster than your speed?

3. Check your stock plastic quadrant. That thing is capable of bending/warping.

4. Check the cable itself for signs of wear.

I used Maximum Motorsports pedal height adjuster along with their quadrant...

it fixed the "knee into the steering wheel" issue when I shift and it makes the car much more comfortable to drive for 6+ footers

you'll need an aftermarket quadrant and adjusted for the MM pedal height adjuster (not sure precisely why, but MM only recommends what's' needed and better safe than sorry)

to adjust the stock pedal just pull up on the pedal when the car is off...it shouldn't make any difference if it's in gear or not....BUT it won't lower the pedal, it may raise it slightly if it needed adjustment
