Ok, I finally have a workable 65 Mustang coupe that I picked up for 300 bucks. The only major thing I can see is the rear foot pans and the quarter panels will need to be replaced. I also have a 66 coupe with perfect floor pans that I will be using on the 65. I was thinking that my first step would be to get it media blasted first to see if there are any hidden issues. Then start replacing the cancer parts. Is that a good idea? If so, what would you guys recommend I do to protect the metal as I work on the car? I do plan on putting it on a rotisserie.

Thanks in advance.

Id have it media blasted first to really see the damage. Most people recommend an epoxy primer over all the good metal and then start cutting/welding.

oh yeah...new floor pans are pretty cheap...especially if they are just sections. Id buy new ones unless that other car is scrap. Way to much work to cut a floor out and keep it nice to put it in a new car.
