Have you pulled codes yet? How's your fuel pressure at idle, with the vacuum line disconnected from the fuel pressure regulator? You should be seeing ~39PSI. What's your base timing set to, with the spout out? Anywhere from 10-16° base should be good, but you may run into some detonation issues with the higher base timing, if you aren't running higher octane gas. I would suspect the TFI or ignition coil before the stator based on the symptoms you're experiencing. Typically with the stator being bad, it's a no-start, no-run condition, and your fuel pump won't even prime when you first turn the key on.

did you change the cam too?

i hear you about not wanting to be reminded of all the money that has gone into it, but we really do need to know as many of the details as possible to be better able to help you figure your problem out. believe me, i have so much damn money into this thing of mine that i am afraid to add it all up.

without a tune, you really need to make sure the mass air meter is calibrated for the injectors you are using. otherwise, the computer will not know how to open the injectors to give it the right amount of fuel

what color are the injectors?

Do you have your spout reconnected? Have you pulled the plugs to see which cylinder is misfiring? If your still running the stock tune, the car will run like crap, and have some of the symptoms you have now. If it is tuned, the first thing I would look at is spark, you know you have spark at high RPM's, but if you have a bad wire, plug, or coil it will show up at low RPM's. If thats all good, go to fuel pressure, it should be 39* with the vaccuume disconnected. Now if that is good, check into vaccuume leaks, get a can of seafoam, follow the directions on the can, then start looking for smoke comming out of weird places under the hood. Are you getting any detonation (pinging)? Is your exhaust smelling like gas, or is it making your eyes water, does it have any soot around the exhaust exit, is there any smoke comming from it? if so what color? Just a little more info and i'm sure we will get it.

from what I am reading , its just running rich as crap because of the injectors , put the stock injectors and stock MAF back on until you can get the car tuned for the aftermarket MAF and injectors , set the timing at 12 base with spout out , should run decent

I think they adjusted preload on those already. Whats left is the calulu valve

seriously,these guy's are just having alittle fun with you.we would all love to help you,but you need to be clear on what exactly the problem is,AND the modifications done to your stang.

for example,if you changed you injectors to a higher flow rate,you need to install an aftermarket MAF calibrated to that flow rate,otherwise the car will run like poop.

i've been on other forum's before and never came across a better group of guy's and girl's than can be found here

just be really descriptive and answer the questions that are asked.

I've figured it out its the MAF I just got one out of a 98 cobra but the wires are all mixed up so how can I fix it and convert it????? thanks for all your help!!!! she runs good without the MAF pluged in.

i dont think that will work. u just need a maf calibrated for the same size injectors you have and it will solve the problem. if the 98 cobra is not calibrated for the same injectors you have it will not work

You prolly need a tune too. I put 24#r's on mt 306 and a matched MAF. It DIDn't run...I had to get it tuned or dialed in on a dyno.

yeah, i agree ... you should get a maf that is calibrated for your injectors. another option is to swap your original 94/95 sensor into the cobra maf (it fits- i did it a couple years ago), have the new maf flowed, and get a tune. but that would probably end up costing more than just getting a new maf made for our year cars and your injectors. the other thing to keep in mind is that if you have any bends in the tubing between the air filter and the mass air meter, then the sensor's readings can be unreliable.
