Just watched Bullitt....

...and got to thinking about doing a bullitt theme on my GT. I'm sure it has been done before but maybe not as much with a foxbody. What do you all think?:D

Also I have said this before but was planning to have the car repainted soon, would it cost that much more to do a color change? Either way I was gonna have it done completely right (aka sanded down, etc.) so I dont see why it would be any difference in price. Just thinking cause with some nice bullitt rims and a highland green paint scheme i think it would look pretty sick. :nice:

If you really wanna do it....

Go with Dark Highland Green for sure, duh...and i think it would look best as an LX and not a GT since the Bullitt car was pretty bare bones in appearance. Then call up Cervinis and pay the ungodly overpriced amout of $519 for their heat extractor hood (i'm a bit disgruntled about their prices :D) and get a Cobra grill insert to give it some kind of open grill like the movie car had, but leave the center open (no horse or snake).

As for wheels....most would be tempted to go with the '01 Bullet wheels but personally i'd look up some American Racing Torque Thrusts in 16 inch, with a machined lip, so that it's closer to the old school appearance and not all dubbed out with 17s. With 16s you can run some pretty fat tires and that'll look more musclecar like the movie car was.

im really liking this idea...... I dont know if i would delete my ground effects or get a heat extractor hood but i def would go with torqu thrusters and the cobra grille insert. I think i would rather do a small cowl hood instead of the heat extractor...I'm gonna see if i can get a shot from the side of my car and maybe you guys could do ur magic with photoshop

okay here is a pic of the side view of my car and some torq thrusters......if someone has some freetime could they paint my car a green similar to dark highland green and slap the torq thrusters on. Maybe make the hood have a small rise like 2.5 ". Thanks.

I suggested that hood because it's the only one out there for a fox body that's similar to the movie car....if you're going for a fox body version of the car, that'll be a key element just like the wheels.

Really i loved the '01 Bullitt, but i thought the hood scoop was kinda out of place...they should've done the extractor on that car long before the '03 Cobra got one.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't the "7UP" cars a very close shade to Highland Green? Something like Dark Emerald Green or something?

I think the Bullitt Fox idea is a really good one...i've honestly had it myself (along with a GT500, GT350, GT350H, and pretty much any other old school Mustang clone idea you can think of LOL). I'd like to see it happen.

For a while i was absolutely set on doing a Shelby GT350 version with my coupe because i never really thought the '84 GT350 did it justice. I was going to do the same basic paint scheme, but i was going to find as close to the real deal magnesium wheels like the Shelby had that i could find, even run 15s to keep it old school looking. My problem is that i have more ideas than money :(

Okay i got a better pic of someones LX. Could someone work there magic with photoshop and paint it dark green and throw the torq thrusters on it......I dont know if there is a way to show a heat extractor hood on the car from this angle but if you can that would be great too.

Thanks Guys :SNSign:
