Will, I have experience with a '92 S-10 (4.3L). The OP sending unit is to the driver side of the dizzy and sticks up at about the same rake as the windshield (it's a real PITA to remove).

I'll have to check the line under the alt.

JT is right on with the OP sending unit.

My truck's accessories were carried over from the Camaro, so they're totally different. Is this what you're talking about?

If so, as you can see, it's kinda like our cars. It goes from the intake tubing to the VC.

If not, I may be able to look at my dad's later on if he's home .... and maybe even snap a pic if need be.

If you look by the fan belt and under the radiator hose it looks like those two lines go together....a connector missing...it goes to a cannister behind the driver's head light.

Look right at the center of the manifold and there is a nut that looks like a sending unit and there is a plug hanging on the other side of the hoses...

Seems to me that the Charcoal cannister is down where the driver's side fender meets the front clip.

The oil sender would be behind the throttle bracket IIRC (the oil sender is between the bracket and firewall).

I believe you and Jutin....I just don't know what that fitting by the manifold is for. If you take a good look at the alternator and valve cover I would guess the oil fill came out and major blow by.....the passenger side vc is clean and there is oil residue all over the driver's side...Oh well....looking for the 4.3 as we speak.........

Will, I'm not sure what fitting/sender thing you're lookin at. I'll try and get you some pics later on today.

And look for a 5.7 instead.

+1!!!!

Hey, I was unable to catch my dad @ home & get a pic. I did find out what that thing in the side of the driver's side head is. It is a coolant temerature sensor. Yours is broken. Get a new one and that plug will connect right to it.

I'm still lost on the vacuum line thing, lol.
