do our verts have a k-member brace? i was underneath mine for the first time (really!) yesterday, and there is a brace on the k-member. i know my car has sub-frame connectors, but now i'm wondering if it also has a k-member brace or if that is stock ...

Yep that thing is stock. At least on the verts it was. And it sits down there pretty low, wait until you put on springs..... then it becomes a clearance headache.

it is already dropped 2" and it hits and scrapes on damn near everything. scared the 3hit out of me the first time it hit a bump between the tires. jarred the whole car.

Oh yeah, duh..... didn't look at your sig before I replied. Yeah, nasty ain't it? I've been wondering if the aftermarket units have any better ground clearance.

I wonder if it'd make the front end of a coupe a little stiffer. Probably wouldn't do much.

Just pull it. Mine is off and I don't notice any difference in front end stiffness, but it's nice not scraping and hitting everything.

You actually bottomed out and hit that brace??? Damn mines lower and never had an issue??
I even put a Steeda G-Trac brace behind it....(since it wouldn't locate in the stock holes)

You don't have a vert though, do you? Your picture doesn't show the brace we're talking about. That brace you've got on is up there high and tight, whereas the stock unit we're talking about is much lower and bolts to different locations. I don't know if I'm correct, but I think I've heard the thing called a "G-load brace" before (????). I'll do a search and see if I can find a pic.

Trust me, that front bar is not the one BlackVert and I are talking about. The one bolted under our cars is a four-point brace. There's nothing in that pic that even remotely looks like it.
