K-member ?

Has anyone used or know of how good Granatelli K-members are?
Or does anyone know of any really good K-members? Im looking
for one and i don't really know about the quality of any of them.
Im looking for the lightest and strongest one...any help would be
greatly appreciated.

ive had a qa1 in my car for over 2 years.. and its great quality the install does however suck compared to some others ive heard of... the lower control arm bolts/nuts have to be ground down nearly to nothing for them to thread on.. Other then that no problems and great room/access to everything needed

I was looking at a QA1, will all the stock suspension work with it? Like springs, A-arms...or do you have to run aftermarket A-arms and coilovers?
This is what im worried about, i want to use as much of my existing front suspension as i can for the time being. I will eventually install tubular front A-arms and coilovers, but not anytime before summer.

I have the Granatelli unit. It is a heavier K-member, but very sturdy. More for road racing. I was going to get the GP unit, but they sent me the GMS unit because they said the GP was junk and a liability concern. Got one hell of a deal, a $700 setup for $400.

With the QA1 tubular control arms and nearly all others you have to run coilovers because there is no spring pocket for a stock style spring. If yopu can get the money together (or wait for a while) it should be cheaper to get the whole ProActive system in one shot than piece by piece.

THe QA1 will change your wheelbase some. prob move the front wheels forward. some folks don't like it cause then they have tires rubbing the fender well area.

AJE has the whole thing with what you want to do. you can run the k-member with stock arms, just have to buy the spring perch option from them $40. Tube A-arm with spring perch as well, or just a plain tube a arm with no perch? your choice. they have it. www.ajeracing.com

yea, see thats what i dont want. I don't want a K-member that moves your wheels but does let you use the stock A-arms and springs. What negative affect does it creat when it moves your wheels? Do you have a gap behind the back or your front tires and the fender? Does it ride different? This is my main concern, i mean the wheel movement...anyone know the negative effects?

I just looked at the PA unit and it sounds exactly what i want for absoblute sure. I can get everything i need from them including the spring perches. It sounds great for my needs, thanks to all that replied to my thread, it helped me alot!

PA unit is the one I was going to use as well when I get one. I also wanted to utilize my stock A-arms and springs. I also heard great things about the fitment and quality as well.

It seems like the best one for the job im trying to accomplish. Im trying
to loose as much weight from my car as humanly possible, but still keeping
it completely streetable and at least some what comfortable. The PA
K-member does that as far as i've heard, the main thing i wanted from it
was it to be strong and not have it bend or the welds crack or anything.
But i also needed to keep my stock A-arms cause i ain't got the money
right now for tubular ones....(Very budget build:bang:) But its the one im
getting, hopefully before christmas.
