K&N Dissappointment

Well I see there is no winning with you. But let me say this. The time is not worth it for me to fool around and clean then reoil the K&N just to lose power. Id rather buy the stock filter and not lose power.
I guess everyone likes to spend money to lose power.
And how is it unnecessary cost? I can buy 3 stockers 1 K&N. The 3 stockers will last me longer than I will have the car. But even if the stockers will cost more, who cares? If your that hard up for money then get another job.
Bottom line, stock is better than K&N.
Stop making excuses and admit your wrong.

To each his own. Until I see for myself that I am losing power, I don't plan to put the stock one back in. And frankly I don't see myself giving a crap enough to go get my car dyno'd, so I'll just wallow in my lost 3 HP while I spend 90% of my life going 30 MPH in Los Angeles rush hour traffic. Hopefully I can still still sleep at night. :)

Oh and the mileage I got in my '01 was absolutely better with the K & N in, so that's one fact that I myself know. Whether the K & N had anything to do with it or not, it was improved. So for me, that was a positive, and I'm not going to sit and argue what I should attribute it to.

Yes I need a new job, do you have suggestions? I'll send you my list of degrees and work experience, perhaps you can suggest a high-paying job. Thank you for your concern. :)

ouch. I didn't realize this forum was full of $&!*heads.
Rick
P.S. I've found that people driving Mustangs of any year typically drive like morons, I guess they act like them too when they are out of their cars... I hope I don't turn into one. I'll have to sell it and go back to owning GM cars that don't consistantly break down.

Great here we go again with a noob insulting the users of the board.

I did an I.P. check to make sure someone didn't get a second user name :nice:

Really the better gas milaege is all in your head. There is no way mechanical you can get better gas milaege from an air filter. If so then explain.
If you so worried about gas milaege why get an 8 cylinder vehicle. Get a 4 banger.
You make no sense.
And I guess all that experience and the BIG list of degrees was a big waste of money because obviously it didnt do a thing for you.
So whos the fool?

And you guys have the nerve to talk about MY useless threads? This is a 2 page thread on a friggin air filter!! And to beat that its regarding the performance characteristics of an AIR FILTER!! Call my threads ridiculous but in my book all this discussion on an AIR FILTER is about the funniest and dumbest thing I have seen yet!! "The ratio of air VS stock filter material tend to combine with the free readical molecules that collect around the throttle boy causing an increase of 15-25 HP by installing this air filter" C'MON!! ITS A FRIGGIN AIR FILTER!!!!

How old are you? Give it a rest my god and lighten up.

How many freaking smililes do you need to see I was just goofing around with you.

Fine it's all in my head....jesus move on. I said I didn't have an explanation why the mileage was better, but I noticed an improvement with the K & N. If you can't accept that, then too bad.

Freaking newbies going nuts lately.

If you cant explain then dont say it.
Bottom line: No increase in power or mileage. Dont always believe what the package says.

Bottom line, you have nothing but your own opinions and tests to back up your position. I have my own. I didn't discount your findings, why do you discount mine? Fact, I put a K & N in. Fact, my mileage was better afterwards. What logical corrolation should I draw? It was just luck? Ok fine, cool. When you have some scientific knowledge that it couldn't possibly be helping, then show me.
