k&n intake installaiton help

I bought a used k&n cold air intake on ebay cheap that was originally on a 2004 mustang gt and it's already put together. the problem is it already has a mass airflow sensor on it and I don't know if it would work with my 1996 gt or
should I take it off and put my stock mass airflow sensor.

The part number is on the MAF sensor says pbt-gf40 and it's made of plastic and it's about 90 mm.

So my question is should I change the MAF sensor before I install the intake on my car or is it okay if i leave it?

i'd re-use the stock MAF, because the 90mm unit will not work with ur stock injectors. and stock tune. the only time you would need a 90mm maf. is for a blower,

but i would hang on to the bigger maf. for future mods...

90mm is not the stock size. If it truly is a 90mm, do what is stated above. Swap in your stock one and keep the 90mm for future mods, or sell it for a little extra cash.

Just use your stock one. It seems as though that MAF is off of a Lightning. So, you can sell it, or hold onto it in case you ever want to put a blower on your car..then all you'd need is injectors and a pump to set yourself up on the air/fuel sides of things..

Thanks but I think i'm going to have to return it. Because I just realized that this intake does not have the hole for the air temperature sensor.

And i don't want to go trough the trouble of trying to drill a hole that may not even come out right. And possibly ruin a perfectly good intake

Almost all the kits i have seen, require you to drill the hole for the IAT sensor. With the provide grommet you should be just fine.

If you bought it used on ebay I seriously doubt you can return it.

Everyone has to drill the hole...

It's not hard to do and you won't mess up.

don't know about the older k&n cai. but i also purchased a used k&n gen2 fipk from ebay.
it already had 2 prots for the two little hose's

but as stated. if everything else is ok and all you need to do is drill out holes for ur air tubes.
then go for it,

Oh ok thanks. Can anyone tell me how big the hole should be when I drill it. Like the diuameter. Or where I can find this information?
